Is Cromer a Ghost Town?

I went along to Buffers on the 27th January to meet John Blythe and his team from HAUNTED WEEKEND.COM who, I am told, put on a great evening to a packed house of local punters who, as well as enjoying a great dinner by Holly (pictured below) and her team, went on to see John and his team in action.

The diners worked in small groups with the Mediums, using tools such as glass moving, table tipping, the Planchette, scrying, the Grande Seance and lock off cams in the ladies loo relayed to TV monitors. Not only was it an exciting and thought provoking night but the punters were also helping to raise money for The Seal and Bird Rescue Trust. Sadly I was unable stay for long however Dawn Butler kindly agreed to give a report:

I have just spent the strangest, weirdest, goose bumpy but very interesting evening of my entire life at BUFFERS. Having previously seen and heard things that I deem to be paranormal, I am a believer. However I went to this event with a clear mind, ready to be unaffected by the evenings events. Boy was I wrong.
The evening began with some introductions. My brother who was with me (for protection) had already met most of the team, so I felt quite at ease. We all sat down to a carvery, sweet and coffee before the evenings events began. We were all put into groups, with a MEDIUM. Our 1st sitting was using a device called a planchette, a triangular shaped, piece of brass with a pencil erected in one point. It was placed on a sheet of blank paper. We sat around a circular table, and a prayer of protection was given. Our Medium opened a channel and we were told to lightly place one index finger on the base of the planchette. I have seen this on TV and always thought that the planchette moved by the influences of the group. After a few minutes the Medium felt a spirit boy nearby and gave us his name. The planchette MOVED, then moved again, then erratically round and round, up and down then eventually right off the paper. Yes and No answers were asked for to confirm other details and the planchette moved accordingly. Even spelling out the first 2 letters of his name, d and a. The Medium previously told us his name was David. The Medium closed down the circle, and the world of spirit was thanked. I found this so interesting and an experience I shall never forget. One thing was sure, no one sitting at that table pushed the planchette; we couldnt possibly have done so as it moved too fast and too strangely.

Our group then moved to different locations and events around the building. Trying basically the same as the planchette but using an upturned glass, again we got a lot of movement and answers through a spirit person.

Scrying was next.
We sat looking at our partners reflection in a bowl of water. You have to concentrate and if successful their reflection is supposed to disappear and be replaced by a spirit. This did not work for me, but my partner reported a bright light shining around my head. I found this really interesting and perplexing, especially when the light was confirmed by our medium. My explanation was that the light was my Aura! and a reflection of my beauty. (Good answer).
We then moved onto table tipping, where we placed index fingers on the edge of a small table, and invited the spirits. The table went daft shooting across the room and indeed tipping and crashing over onto the floor. Again the table moved too strangely and quickly for any of the group to have influenced it.
After a break we moved on to a lock off camera in the ladies loo. Not a very comfortable location but apparently very active spiritually. Although heated, this room felt much cooler. My brother and I sat in here for about 10 minutes. I felt comfortable, saw and heard nothing but sitting in the cold and dark was aware of how easy it would be to imagine something. When we came out we were told that when I asked out orbs were seen crossing the room in front of us. We finished the evening watching an uneventful seance, a couple of drinks at the bar, and I walked home to clear my head and ponder over the venings events. Guess what? I STILL AM.

Thank you very much Dawn from Cromers PIE SHOP. For further information visit their website: www.hauntedweekend.com This Team started out as a spiritual circle but developed into a paranormal investigation group and now hold meetings in haunted locations. Their motto is, 'Exploring Other Possibilities'.
The 'core' group has been meeting for over a year and many of them have sat in spiritual or 'home' circles for five years or more. Johns team is based in Mundesley.

Is Cromer a Ghost Town? No, not in Wild West terms, but there are ghosts around any town. Robert Folan has had Sky TV into his Prince Of Wales Rd, Cromer, flat recording all sorts of such activities.
