Dudley Castle & Station Hotel Event Report

Pictures below:

Most of the findings of this report are based on what people picked up visually, on recording equipment such as cameras and what they sensed. There was no technical data recorded by the guests.

Dudley Castle

Date: 30/03/2007 Time: 9pm – 3am

Events of noticeable interest or impact: None

Battery:

Groups reported items being moved such as ropes starting to swing and chairs being kicked. Upon use of dowsing rods one group discovered a chap called George who may have been a servant. Many groups sensed the presence of a monk and a general feeling of marching.

The thing with the monk is that prior to our prelim it was thought there was an evil monk in the castle that used to approach people in a menacing way and growl. Little Jacqui discovered, by making contact with this Spirit, that it wasn't an evil monk but a former executioner who had had his tongue removed when he was hung, drawn and quartered. He was linked to a King, which Jacqui also revealed and Aimee from the castle staff did a little research and found out who he was. Her findings confirmed what Jacqui had discovered (and no other Medium, including 'Most Haunted' , had suspected).

During the glass moving exercise one group reported that a lady came through who was possibly a member of staff and was carrying a white bundle.

Ruins:

Many people reported feeling pain in their legs. The name Barker was picked up by several groups. A hanging sensation was also felt by one group. Many groups captured lights and orbs in and around the ruins on their cameras.

The castle is a very spooky place to visit which was complimented by very helpful and informative staff.

Station Hotel

Date: 31/03/2007 Time: 9pm – 3am

Events of noticeable interest or impact: April fools day

Room 214/Lockoff:

One group reported feeling very uneasy in this room and that their camera equipment would not focus properly. Many groups captured orbs on their equipment.

Cellar/Table Tipping:

For most groups this was a fairly quiet area with only two groups reporting activity. One group reported the table shifting as if it was dancing, which seemed to be intermittent as if the spirit was coming and going quite quickly. The other group deduced that the table was being affected by a child of about 5 years named Douglas. Upon questioning him about his death one member of the group reported physical discomfort in her back and a tightness of the chest. He was reported as responding well when he was asked if he was a good boy.

Cellar/Glass Moving:

This seemed a moderately active area with most groups experiencing some movement. One group was given a drawing of a pentagram.

Cellar/Planchette:

This area was the most active and seemed to be centred around a spirit called George. Plenty of movement recorded by groups with one lady having the Planchette move when her finger was the only one on it. The main incident of the night was recorded here as when one group at the start of the evening got an experience they will never forget. It was reported that prior to the start of the session the group were holding hands. One of the members commented to another laughingly that she was holding her hand so tight it might break. What happened next is that the table moved by itself, followed by much screaming and jumping which resulted in the lady in question actually fracturing one of her fingers. Ouch!

Summary:

Overall it was felt that the hotel was more active than the castle, hence a return visit later to the hotel this year to investigate further the cellar. Although not much was recorded on the event analysis sheets, we got an overall feeling from the guests of an enjoyable weekend with much activity. The lady in question with the fractured finger is doing fine and hopes to join us again on future events. It certainly was an event to remember with helpful and friendly staff at both locations.

PS. If any members present at this event or future events would like to contribute to these reports, please feel free to either email HW or post to the forum, thanks.
